Let’s start with “Ask Anxiety.”
You may be anxious because you don’t know how or you’re not sure you’re asking for the right amount--understandable and easy to remedy. People also have all sorts of ideas about how the person being asked feels. We have scientific evidence to share about that. Whatever reservations you have, we bet you’ll have a different feeling about the process by the time we’re done.
On the “how-to” front, we’ll cover state-of-art major gift solicitation techniques to:
- Set up the visit (not to be overlooked—obtaining an appointment means that you are well on the way to a gift)
- Structure the strategy and agenda
- Make the “ask”
- Respond to objections and move to agreement
You’ll rehearse the scenarios you are most likely to encounter. We know. We’ve done lots of asking. You’ll have all the opportunity you want to practice and ask questions.
